Write Up:
Dennis Eaves and Michael Contrada were joined by Tim Strand, fellow hiker from the Over the Hill Gang, to make the circuit from Dancing Lady along the ridge traverse to Lena Lake and Firebrand Pass. We started and ended at the Lubec Lake trailhead. Dennis was our guide having completed the traverse previously. We headed east on the Autumn Creek trail until we reached our launch point below Dancing Lady to bushwhack to the summit. From there we headed out the ridge until we were above Lena Lake where we descended. We circled the lake below the saddle between Red Crow and Bearhead Mountains until we found the trail up through the krummholz to the basin below Firebrand Pass. After spotting a large moose posing on a prominent ledge in the basin, we made our way to the Firebrand Pass trail and exited having enjoyed a delightful trek on a perfect day.
