Write Up:
An exceptional GMS group made the ascent of Steamboat East. The lower elevations along the Dearborn trail provided several interesting wildflowers. The group then headed the climbers trail, making the 3300 foot/5 mile climb in a bit under 4 hours. After summiting Steamboat East, the group then tagged the Dearborn highpoint on the rim of the Front. Skies were growing more threatening and the descent was made surrounded by thunderstorms and at times descent rain. Once back at the intersection skies were blue again. Some days it be like that. Back at the trailhead one member discovered not one but two flat tires. A pump and a spare provided the means to make it back to town for a more permanent fix. All in all a good day in the mountains with an outstanding group of people. Thanks to all.
