Write Up:
Co-coordinators Eric Smart and Mike Contrada summited Amphitheater Mountain with Rodney Falkenberg, Cindy Weaver, David Archibald, and Adam McClure on a warm, clear day. They took the Triple Divide Trail out of Cutbank and at the stream crossing with the small bridge started bushwhacking to attain the immediate ridge. Once they got above the brush, they walked toward and around the two intermediate peaks on the long ridge toward Amphitheater. The views from the summit were expansive with Mount James towering above and Medicine Owl Peak beckoning beyond. They decided there wasn’t enough time to summit Medicine Owl and headed back down. Once they reached the cars, they enjoyed the tailgate party and reflecting on their enjoyable climb.
