A small but mighty GMS crew accompanied the coordinator up James. Forecast was iffy, and valley bottoms were foggy. The group made good time to the summit, shaving a little mileage by ascending before the pass. On the summit, clouds danced among the valleys and peaks, providing memorable vistas as they rolled up the peaks and and backed away like curtains to reveal the awesome mountains in the Cut Bank area. Descending the mountain, clouds blew away to reveal the spectacular Atlantic Creek drainage with Medicine Grizzly Lake at its head. Trail crews were out repairing the trail. A lonely elk watched us pass from far below. The meadow just pass the trailhead was resplendent with wildflowers. We made it back to the cars just in time before the forecasted storms descended. All in all a wonderful day. Great climb, better people. Thanks to Joe S., Joe J., and Mike R. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album?
