GMS hikers just can’t give up. After a nice hike up Apgar LO the week prior, everyone was eager to keep the season going and suggested Huckleberry LO the following week. Coodinators Mike Contrada and Cindy Weaver posted the option and got a good turnout of hikers not ready to hang up their boots for the season. It was a cold morning and the fog and gray skies made it seem much colder. We discussed snowshoes in the parking lot and decided not to carry them along. There were several reports of others hiking up in the past week and no new snow. We didn’t really need them, but it might have been nice at the top as there was some post holing as the snow softened as we hiked down. Greg Adams, Katie Masonette, Charlotte Jansson, Steve Watters, Carolyn Remmel, David Archibald, Jason Wilkes, Reid Mobley, Pete Call and Brennan Goldade made for a great group. We broke out of the gray into a beautiful blue sky, but the air temperature still had a definite bite. A bit of a breeze at the summit made for a short lunch and hurry off the summit.
