Caribou Peak in the Scapegoat Wilderness. First off, I apologize to the participants as I don't think I realized, or didn't properly communicate, how much of a roller coaster this hike would be. Going back and using the elevation profile tool in Google Earth of our route, the calculation came out to just over 6000 feet of elevation gain over the roughly 20 miles of the hike. I think I underestimated the hike because most of those miles are directly on the CDT. This could have been a disastrous error with a lesser group; fortunately for me, this was one of the stronger GMS groups I have been on a trip with. However, that is not an excuse for poor planning, and I will aim to do better next time. We got hammered by a storm coming back. Otherwise, beautiful country in what feels like endless wilderness. Thanks to everyone who came out for a big day.
