After a hot and windy week Friday began cool with a breeze at the Summit trailhead. Little Dog and Summit were in a shroud of clouds with their connecting saddle just visible. Alda Sigvaldason, Anne Dellwo, Chris Gardner, Eric Boxer, Dori Gilels, David and Stacey Endebrock jioned coordinators Gail and Dell Meuchel. Minnesota GMS members Justin Hollister and Kate Amzen surprised us with a climb crash to complete the group. Coordinator Dell Meuchel had climbed both mountains 25 years ago so the route finding became a group effort and went very well. David and Stacey had previously summited and Justin had a GPS track. Still the climb was tougher than all remembered. Multiple zigs and zags with many class four obstacles and plenty of exposure. Our data showed around 10.5 miles R/T and 4300 elevation gain in 10 hours. The views were fantastic and the group a pleasure. A thanks is owed to April and Gary Seubert for their route advice. The scree run down between the two summits provided a quick exit. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album?
