Amazing trip into The Bob to bag Mount Pat Gass and the northern high point of Corrugate Ridge. We arrived at the trailhead to an ominous and very steady rain. On the drive in it looked to be clearing in the south, and sure enough by the time we were ready to go the rain stopped and had perfect weather the remainder of the weekend, if a little hot on the hike out. We hiked in via the North Fork Teton, hooked up with Bruce Creek, made camp in the headwaters. After setting up camp we made our up the trail towards Pat Gass. The trail at the pass was blocked by a large drift, but getting around was not an issue. Then clamored our way up the ridge on solid limestone to the summit. Epic views. The coordinator suggested walking the other side of the ridge and descending the opposite side of ascent. This afforded views of an awesome toothy ridge and wall, but having to climb back up the opposite side of the pass was annoying, for me at least lol. Adam and Claudia are strong climbers and nothing really phases them. We made it back to camp in short order though. Day 2 involved checking out the northern section of Corrugate Ridge. A quick off trail led us to a ridge with some enjoyable class III climbing and soon to the northern high point of the ridge. Blue forget-me-nots were really popping, and discussions about all the other possible peaks to climb in the area revealed the vastness of the possibilities in the country that laid out before us. A quick slope traverse and back to break up camp, and then a warm hike out got us back to the vehicles. Total of around 25 miles and 5k climbing I think. Thanks to Claudia and Adam for joining me on this trip.
