Despite being late in July, this classic climb turned quite cold up high. We ended up deciding to try Going-to-the-Sun Mountain first to make sure we would be able to get around the small snow fields. Those turned out not to block the standard route, and we got to the top with the usual class 3 scrambling. After returning to the saddle, we then took the ridge up Matahpi before returning to the saddle and then down to the meadows. There is now a fairly prominent climbing trail through the meadows. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
