Write Up:
The weather report was not great. A small group of three cruised through the trail taking a break at Pitamakan Pass and then continued around Cut Bank Pass and finally to Dawson Pass. We experienced cloudy skies and intermittent rain. We then headed up to the summit of Mt. Helen. The winds at Dawson Pass were at least 50 MPH and we were getting pelted with hail. But once we made our way to the summit ridge, the rain stopped and the wind died down as we made it to the summit. We stayed up there for a bit and then made our way down to the pass and out to the trailhead. A 21 mile day with over 4,000 feet of elevation gain. Climbers were Lesley Caesar, Fred Kristin and Greg Pagano.
