A group of 11 started the fairly steep climb of Ousel Peak on a cool, sometimes wet morning. The trail became covered with snow about a mile from the summit and some opted to not continue the final trek to the summit. 7 climbers made it to the summit and were treated to fairly good views and were able to get back to the trailhead missing rain showers scattered all over the region. The descent down proved to be a combination of post holing, sliding (intentional and unintentional) and careful steep snow shoeing. A tailgate of drinks and snacks were enjoyed by the weary, soaked feet group after the 7.5 mile, approximately 4,000 feet of elevation trek.
