Write Up:
An adventurous crew traveled to the south part of the state for something out of the ordinary. We reached the trailhead through herds of elk and tourists before setting out across sagebrush. The reddish peak loomed and we steadily climbed while the wind blew in occasional whiffs of sulfur from Mammoth Hot Springs. The final stretch entailed some thoughtful scrambling. Everything was successful, except for the lost climbing helmet that plunged a thousand feet out of site.
