Write Up:
Hash mountain is an unimpressive peak about midway between Blaine Mountain and Strawberry Mountain on our local range east of Kalispell. Just a flat top, but the 360 views are fantastic, seeing the Flathead Valley all the way from Kalispell to Polson, into the Southfork and Glacier Park. For as easy as access to this summit is, not many people visit it

We had a beautiful sunny day for our hike, starting our morning at Cayuse Prairie school where we consolidated to two pickups for the rough 5.5 mile drive up Patric Ridge Road, which is rutted and potholed.

The first two miles of trail is steep climbing about 1000ft a mile until you cross the top of the range and down to Alpine Trail 7 on the other side. Another 1.5 miles of flat trail brings you to gorgeous Lamoose Lake, then a mile of climbers trail has on the summit.

The trail was loaded with huckleberries, I was surprised to see so many this late in season, we extended our trip out so everyone could pick, I think most of us got about a pint before heading back out.

I'd like to thank Bethany Baer, Cinzia Dal Lago, Carolyn Remmel, Kathleen Marsonette, Fred Kristin, Karen, and Stacey Dunn for being such great climbing partners and making this such a fun day.
