Beautiful day in a special place. Six GMSers showed up for a tour of the forks of the Waldron Creek drainage near the Teton Pass ski hill. Started off on the South Fork on a snowmobile/atv trail which put us at the foot of Teton Peak near an ephemeral pond. From there we gained an easterly ridge, onto a goat trail, and up to the crest of the ridge between Teton and Waldron. From there it was a quick class II scramble to bag Teton. Great views into the Bob, Glacier, and countless peaks yet to be climbed. From there Laurel, Dennis (both recovering from broken legs) and Mark (recovering from getting old) decided to call it a day, while the wild boyz (Adam/Greg/Brennan) completed the trip as intended, walking the beautiful ridge line to bag Mount Lockhart. Mark and Laurel bagged the next high point in the dridge line, then met back up with Dennis to make the trip back. Mark hung around to make sure wild boyz made it back out. Coordinator will be putting less multi-peak days on the calendar, as he never wants to do the other peaks after the first one lol. Stellar day with stellar people in a stellar place. The Front always delivers. Thanks to participants for another great GMS outing. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
