Six members enjoyed incredible wx and summitted the most isolated peak in the Jewel Basin. The last successful GMS trip was in 2015. Laurel Vielle climbed it solo on 7 Aug 25 and was part of my trip from 2022. She offered the brush was too thick to go straight up the south slope from the trail. So we followed her route: stayed on trail #64 for 2.3 miles until one reaches the beautiful, flowered meadow. Then travel off-trail E and NE climbing and traversing across the south slopes. Brush is worst in the beginning then gives way to reasonable beargrass and huckleberry. Some class III scrambling is possible within the intermittent rock formations. Avoid the krummholtz. When on the scree/talus, look for a goat trail that follows the 6560 ft contour. Then it's side-hilling and ascending to the saddle. From the saddle, follow a deer trail up the ridge to the false summit. Then along the ridge to summit block which can be tackled as class II to IV.
