Write Up:
This was a fun adventure which included off-piste snowshoeing and plenty of navigating by smartphone as the group looped around to connect to the Snyder Ridge trail from the Lincoln Lake Trail. It was a physical day as even with snowshoes quite often group members sunk into the melting snowpack. Also as we climbed up Snyder Ridge from the backside the downfall created pockets of air and loose snow that led us to sink fairly deep once in a while. One of my snowshoes broke apart and this situation required the use of a bungee cord wrapped around the base of the shoe and my ankle to continue. Good times! Fortunately this happened on the way back to civilization. We had a great group and I'd like to thank everyone for getting along so well and being very agreeable. It was a great day to explore the wilderness of GNP.
