Write Up:
Climb was postponed due to from June 21 due to a winter storm warning with snow level down to 4,000’. A week later, it was still cloudy and drizzly, but the summit was accessible for our group of nine. Due to the weather and wind direction, we modified the planned route to go up the more standard approach via the boundary and an open eastern ridge. The old, overgrown trail from the Cut Bank Ranger Station to the boundary worked, as long as we could follow it. Then the boundary took us up to an eastern ridge with meadows most of the way so we could avoid most bushwhacking. A steep climb up from the meadows took us up to just north of the summit. On a day with better weather, White Calf would have been tempting to the north. We were just happy to not get blown off the ridge and to have great views into the park and out to the plains before the clouds lowered.

It was a 9.5 mile day with 3,900’ of elevation in about 7 hours.
