We had a great group and great day for almost perfect day on Little Chief. We found the great Elk trail just past Virginia falls had been flagged and just had a lttle bushwacking. we cut up on a diagonal just above the scrubby trees and met the upper gost trail near the end of the long west traverse. After a 1800' trudge up the SW face we enjoyed a wind break just over the summit. The summit register is missing, next GMS trip might consider bring up a new one. On the descent we stayed high on the west traverse on good goat trails until the second gully south of the towers off the north side of Little Chief. A long drop and some more traverse brought us to a good gully that brought us down to the elk trail, which we followed all the way down to the Pit toliet by Virginia Falls. Summitgoup was Rod Graham, Don Arthur, Bill Harring, Jim Schroeder, Laurel Vielle,Rod Falkerberg, and Jack Beard. David Olson stopped about a third of the way up with leg cramps and waited patiently for us to return. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album?
