Write Up:
Perfect sunny weather and blue skies set the tone for a satisfying climb up the two peaks that flank Dawson Pass. Eight of us rode the scenic boat tour to the head of the lake and set off for the pass. Unfortunately, one of us became ill and had to turn back before reaching the pass. Part of our group traveled quickly up the scree slopes of Flinsch and navigated the fun 4th class section at the top. They waited for the rest of us to catch up to them and we all reached the summit together. After snacks and photos, we made our way down. Two of our party decided that one peak was enough for the day while the remaining 5 of us picked our way up the delightful ridge to the summit of Helen. After more snacks and cool photos, we rejoined the other two at the pass and booked it down the trail to the boat launch where we got another ride back to the parking lot.
