Coordinator Jim Boyer, Kevin Clairmont Participants: Sue Shannon, Joe Schletz, John Barnes, (Tim Anderson) Mt. Clements Aug. 6, 2011 A great day for a climb on Mt. Clements! Six ‘GMSers’ started the climb at around 8 AM and it didn’t take long before we where warmed up and at the over look to Hidden Lake and on to the next break area between Cannon and Mt. Clements (9:45am). We took the route that I had picked out on Thursday during a pre-climbing day and had marked the area with a few cairns. We went over the first hump (put on our helmets) and hopped onto the goat tails on the north side where exposure, cool temps, shade and great views await you and your camera. Next stop Mt. Clements (8760’) summit. 11:15 AM had a lunch break with a view and photos. Then retrace route in reverse and back to the parking lot (2:30 PM) for a small tail gate gathering. It was 9 miles and 2300’of vertical gain. photos will fallow Jim Boyer
