Write Up:
It was a smoky day for our trip. We packed into a few hardier vehicles and drove to the foot of the mountain. The road was blocked by a new barbed wire fence that was easy to move (we assumed to keep stock out). Lovely climb with a slow pace. Easy to get off the eroded sections ascending to the ridge by moving to the left and into the trees. We could only see the White Calf to Curly Bear cirque. All other mountains were hidden by smoke. I think everyone was glad to do a shorter day when it was so smoky!
