Because I have already plucked most of the “low-hanging fruit” in Glacier—aka the easier summits—my recent climb leads have become more and more complicated. And Boswell was no different. But that just makes it more fun, in my mind! For Boswell, we had to secure camping in or near Waterton Townsite, which can be difficult to do during peak tourist season. Thankfully, we all managed to get spots. Then we had to secure boat tickets for the Crypt Lake shuttle, which we purchased the day before just in case. But the real crux of the trip was getting up and down Boswell and back to the boat dock in time to catch the last boat. Thankfully, we pulled that off, too. On climb day, we were treated to a mellow, if crowded, 15-minute boat ride across Waterton Lake, followed by a beautiful trail hike and a steep but manageable hike and climb to the summit of Boswell. Then it was back out to the boat dock, with time to spare. We only had to wait about 15 minutes before an early shuttle came to pick us up. All in all, a great day! Climbers were Anne Dellwo, Scott Freeman, Adam McClure, Dell Meuchel, Greg Notess, Laurel Vielle
