We hit the trail from Logan Pass at 8am and hiked to Hidden Lake. When we reached the outlet there were dozens of beautiful Cut Throat Trout just hanging out. We had to wade right through them. I've only been to the outlet once before and it just like that. Don't know if I am lucky or of that is normal for this creek. We dried off our feet and headed to Bearhat.

We started ascending once we were below the big rift. After we got above the first cliff band we reached steeper snow fields so we strapped on our crampons pullout out our axes and headed up through the seconds cliff band and around to the east side.We started up the gully there. But part way up it became clogged with very steep snow so we exited the gully and climbed the mostly solid rock to its left all the way to the ridge then walked it to the north high point where we had lunch and took pictures.

After lunch we walked the ridge south towards the true summit. That was a fun ridge to "walk", a lot of up and down. About 2/3 of the way to the true summit the ridge is broken by a large fissure, we studied it for a while and concluded we could down climb to a point where we could then ascend the true summit but we would have had to descend many hundreds of feet and everyone agreed that we were happy with what we had done so far so we turned around and went back down the way we came up.

I have to say this was the most enjoyable climb I have had all summer, thanks guys.
