Write Up:
Excellent long day out with a rad crew. Met at 6 at Bowman Lake, then hiked out to Akokala Lake, where we split off and braved an absolutely heinous bushwhack up to the shoulder, punctuated by an abundance of moral-boosting hucks, serviceberries, thistle berries, and a wild strawberry. Once on the ridge we followed it more or less to the summit. The final couple hundred feet require navigating around some disjointed blocks, but there are multiple options and it proved a fun scramble. Incredible views of the 9430s, Kintla, Kinnerly, Numa. Found a slightly better line down the bushwhack just a hair closer to the lake, before slogging out the trail miles.
