Eight of us left the parking area for Swan Peak, in the Swan range south of Big Fork. We followed the climber’s trail to Lower Squeezer Lake and then traveled cross country to Upper Squeezer Lake. The next 2000 feet of elevation is gained by ridge travel up to the summit. Six made it to the summit while one fished at the upper lake. One stopped short of the top and returned with the group as we headed down. We were all happy to share in Franz Barthel’s sixty second summit of his 62th year. The Swan Peak climb is about 17 miles with over 5000 feet elevation gain. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
