Myself and guest David Jensen enjoyed a day in the Swan Range with a dozen or so of our closest dirt bike friends. The Wire Trail #78 is very popular with motorized users. The riders are kind, though they swear like sailors. We hiked trail #78 for 5 miles, then following an intermittent game trail, climbed 600 vert feet N. along a spur to the summit block. Easy steep meadow route along the tree line. The map location of Spring Slide's summit shows to the northeast of the block. But visual and GPS confirmed it's on the west side of the summit block. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
