While we initially planned an ascent of Medicine Grizzly from the south, that whole basin was filled with snow and the route through the cliffs blocked by steep, high angle snow fields. So instead, we approached from the north, along the Medicine Grizzly Lake trail. Crossing Atlantic Creek on a log with a rope handrail assist, we followed some excellent game trails through dense brush and then bushwacked up to the open NW ridge. From there, we ascended 2000’ up the steep slopes and NW couloirs to the summit cliffs. After a bit of exploration, we found that traversing on the west side to the SE ridge gave us a route to the summit for all nine of us.
