Mon, Jul 18 2011 - Matahpi Peak (View Original Event Details)

Coordinator(s): John Oliver Ellis
Participants:Jim Heckel, Todd Nicholas, John Oliver Ellis, Ron Gruber, Ian Aston

Write Up:
Despite construction delays on GTTS Road, we got an early start up the trail. After crossing the first bridge, the trail disappeared under the snow. Ian Aston lead us up through the forest to the left side of the cliff band where we found the the cairn marked route through it. After slogging up the scree, we took a break at the saddle. From there it was about 45 minutes for everyone to reach the top. A bluebird day so 360 degree views. The way down was fast and easy.
