Participants: Ralph Thornton (Coordinator), Ron Gruber (Co-coordinator) April Seubert, Gary Seubert, Larry Hiller, Bill Haring, Daniel Ostrom, Tim Horan, Ginger Flesch, Linda Soper, Diane Lundgren and Greg Kushnak. The climb began at the Headquarters Pass Trailhead at the end of the South Fork Teton Road around 8:30 am. We hiked to Headquarters Pass crossing a few streams running high with snowmelt. The sky was over but as we approached Headquarters Pass the clouds dissipated nicely. For the rest of the day we enjoyed brilliant sunshine on a warm and almost windless day. After resting at Headquarters Pass and briefly watching Linda Soper and Daniel Ostrem climb the north ridge of Rocky Mountain, we began the short ascent to our first summit. Linda and Daniel joined us there and after a brief rest we continued on to Headquarters Peak. Views in all directions were stunning and few wanted to leave. After posing for our summit photo we began the long descent. Some on talus and screen, some on trail but a good portion was down sliding down the snow to Our Lake. A ptarmigan watched us go by probably wondering where all these people came from. All too soon we were hiking down the trail below the big waterfall coming out of a snowbank below Our Lake. We reached the trailhead around 4:00 pm and enjoyed some much needed liquid refreshments.
