Write Up:
Despite the poor weather forecast, 16 GMS-ers met at 8:00 am at the Scenic Point trailhead, splitting into two groups. Jim Foster took one group to attempt the traditional route to Mt. Henry via Scenic Point, while James Hulvat took the other eight via the 'easier' route up Appistoki basin. Jim's group turned back after summiting Medicine Peak due to vertigo-inducing white-out fog. The rest of us were able to reach the summit of Henry from the Appistoki side, albeit after navigating wet rock and < 50 ft visibility for nearly 4 hr. A soaked but still smiling group made it back to the cars at 3:30 pm. Another great day in the mountains!
