Point St. Charles – July 29, 2012 Coordinator: Paul Cogswell The climb of Point Saint Charles began with some trail hiking which the nine two-legged and one four-legged GMSers bombed up like a freight train. The pace subsided slightly as the route went off trail and the group took a short breather by a small lake. The route then turned to rock slabs and a ridge with views including the Garden Wall of the Mission's east slopes and the appropriately named Turquoise Lake, one of the range’s many large lakes glimmering below. After some time on the summit, the group hurried down for some refreshing cool drinks to relieve the thirst from climbing in the heat and because of the rumour which turned out to be true that puffy Spam balls were waiting as well. Participants were: Frank Wesolovski, Jason Wilkes, Paul Cogswell, James Hulvat, Barb Schwarz, Bill Haring, Scott Eklund, Sue Shannon, Brian Kennedy and Jim Cossitt.
