Mount Rockwell - July 18, 2009 Coordinators: Terry Sherburne and David Keim We followed the trail described by Gordon Edwards toward Two Medicine Pass, taking the game trail going west, just south of Rockwell. The scrub forest of dwarf alpine fir on the west side was burned in the fire a few years ago, which made the crossing fairly easy to the scree slope. Then we made our way up to the small cliffs leading to the true summit on the northern end of the mountain. Our descent route was toward Upper Two Medicine Lake, dropping down first over some Class 3 and 4 ledges toward the deep notch just north of Rockwell. After dropping down the scree slope below, we angled west through dense thicket until arriving at the upper end of the lake, then followed the game trail to the foot of the lake and out to Middle Two Medicine. This loop is a great way to do this, although it makes a long day trip! Mount Rockwell climbers were: Patrick Blake, David Keim, Alda Sigvaldason, Mark Haemig, John Ellis, David Schuler, Dennis Eaves, Vernon Garner, Ray Allen, Rob Kealy, Terry Sherburne and Alan Gregory.
