Write Up:
Mount Cannon - August 18, 2012. Coordinators: John Ellis and Kevin Clairmont. GMS Participants: Leslie Kermath, Robert Hensler, Jim Heckel and Robin Young. We met at the Logan Pass parking lot and proceeded to the Scenic Overlook of Hidden Lake. We re-grouped at the Overlook before continuing on to Bird Woman Pass. It was a blue bird day with clear and calm weather all day. After taking time to check out the views and eat a light snack at the Pass, we then continued on up Mount Cannon to the summit -- the 360 degree views were spectacular. The stone guard figure keeping watch over Bird Woman Pass was very interesting. We returned using the same route and then had a tailgate party at Logan Pass parking lot. All agreed that it was an excellent day to be out and about in Glacier National Park.
