Tobacco Root Tens – August 18, 2012 Coordinator: Greg Notess Starting just west of Pony, we hiked 5 1/2 miles to Hollowtop Lake, then followed trails past Deep Lake and climbed up the east arm of Hollowtop to ascend to the top of the highest of the Tobacco Roots at 10,604. We followed the ridge over to Mount Jefferson (10,513) and the more difficult ridge to Horse Mountain (10,200) before descending back to the lake and the trail. It only took us 10 1/2 hours to bag three 10,000 footers! Participants were: Dell Meuchel, Greg and Cecelia Notess, Brian Kennedy, Larry Hiller, Frank Wesolovski, James Hulvat and Ken McDermott.
