Write Up:
On Sunday, August 19th, six GMS folks plus one guest hiked and climbed from Siyeh Bend to Rising Sun. The route was to hike via trail to the saddle just below Siyeh pass, dropping down into the upper lake at the head of Boulder Creek, climbing about 900 feet up to the top of Rambling Rose ridge, and then climbing down to the basin above Otakomi Lake eventually hiking the trail out to Rising Sun. A variety of terrain was encountered including rock ledges, scree, a steep couloir, alpine meadows and beautiful lakes and waterfalls. The route was scenic and led folks into seldom visited parts of the park including the lake the the head of Boulder Creek and the meadows and ledges above Otakomi lake. The trip was enjoyed by all. Those participating were Jason Wilkes, Alan Gregory, George and Connie Schuler, Robin Young, Darrel Coverdell and Guest Jim Murphy.
