Coordinator(s): Ronnie Laudati
Participants:Ronnie Laudati, Jerry Moore, Paul Cogswell, Allison McCarthy, Pat Keane-Richmond, Jason Wilkes, Robin Young

Write Up:
Jerry Moore, Paul Cogswell, Jason Wilkes, Allison McCarthy, Pat Keane-Richmond and Robin Young got underway for Mount Grinnell at 8:40, leaving the loop and making the 4 miles up to Granite Park Chalet in 2 hours. Getting underway again after a short rest, the route required a short jaunt on the Highline Trail, and another up grassy slopes where the Continental Divide was gained and also the first view of the destination- Mount Grinnell. A descent was required to cross the basin under the Swiftcurrent Glacier from where the ascent began again to the summit ridge. The group's numbers started to thin at this point due to the heat and the difficult climbing on steep broken rock. After a strenuous grind up the headwall, four climbers enjoyed some rest, lunch, and great views on the ridge. From here the number continuing dropped to three who headed for the summit and reached it finally after many false summits. The views were even more exceptional from this centrally located summit in spite of smoky obscured conditions. With the daylight hours getting short the descent began, as quickly as conditions allowed, back down to the glacier, up again to the Continental Divide, back to the chalet, and finally the scorching hike down to the loop. The hiker who needed the 7 P. M. shuttle arrived in the nick of time and the last one of the group arrived at 7:20.
