Write Up:
Knowing this would be a long day we hit the trail at first light 7am. We made good time time up the trail and quickly reached our turn off on to the old un-maintained McDonald Creek Trail and down to our creek crossing point. The bushwhack was as bad as I remembered, Through Ash, Alder, Raspberry, Huckleberry, Thimbleberry, Gooseberry, Elderberry, and Devils Club we trudged up hill. Five and a half hours later we were finally above the thick brush and stopped on a nice rock out-crop for lunch. Another hour and a half had us at the lookout. Everyone enjoyed the views though slightly obstructed by some smoke. The lookout looked much better than last time I visited, the stabilization project while not complete did manage to fix the holes in the roof and install shutters and partially paint the weathered wood.Then back down through the same mess. We got back to the cars right at dark 8pm.

Everyone seemed happy to have made it and all commented that they had thought it would be a bad bushwhack but had no idea....
