Coordinator: Kevin Mikelson A group of eight of us left the Logan Pass parking lot at 8:30 a.m. on a perfect day for climbing. This was nearly everyone's first ascent up Mount Reynolds and the North Face Diagonal route. A nice breeze (gale force wind?) kept us cool the entire ascent. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch at the summit, then quickly descended the south scree slope. On the trail back to the Hidden Lake boardwalk we encountered a herd of mountain goats on a snow field that weren't interested in giving us the trail. After skirting around them, we made it back to the parking lot for an impromptu tailgate party and a couple of hours of socializing. All in all, another amazing day of climbing in Glacier! Doug Thorsen, Sheila Bowley-Krause, Grant Hnetka, Kevin Mikelson, Danielle Beach, Ken Nielson, David King and Jason Wilkes. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
