Write Up:
Coordinators: Ralph Thornton and Ron Gruber The day began sunny and warm with an easy crossing of the South Fork of the Teton River and a pleasant hike up Reirdon Gulch. Wild flowers were in profusion and the views very pleasant. And there was a slight breeze to keep us cool. That changed as we left the gulch and headed cross country toward Metis Ridge. The wind picked up. Climbers huddled behind rocks during rest breaks and tenuously braced during the final ascent. On the summit, we again hid from the high winds behind the cairn. The air was clear allowing for magnificent views north and south along the Front Range and west toward the Bob Marshall Wilderness. After only a short summit stay we traversed Métis Ridge. The buffeting winds made it challenging but no one got knocked down more than a few times. After the descent of loose talus and a nice little bushwhack we made the final crossing of the South Fork of the Teton and put it in the book. Climbers were: Gary Seubert, Laurie Lintner, April Seubert, Greg Kushnak, Pete Pace, Todd Davis, Tim Horan, Melody Berg, Cecelia Notess, Ron Gruber, Greg Notess and Ralph Thornton.
