Sat, Jul 20 2013 - Amphitheater Ridge to Curly Bear (View Original Event Details)

Coordinator(s): Dell Meuchel
Participants:Dell Meuchel, Rhonda White, Bruce White, Warren Lane, John Reynolds

Write Up:
Several times on climbs from Triple Divide Pass to Curly Bear GMS members made reference to an incredible goat trial and wondered about a connection. On Saturday July 20th six climbers decided to investigate the trails possible connections. Warren Lane, John Reynolds, Bruce and Rhonda White and Dell Meuchel set out on the ridge to Amphitheater and see if we could ridge walk to Curly Bear on such a trail. 13 miles, 6500 feet and 13 hours later we were at the truck by Divide Peak. It was a yo-yo route that disappeared 2/3rds of the way along the journey only to be found bounding off steep cliffs. My thanks to the group for their faith in going on an unknown trip and help in finding the trail. Dell
