Coordinator: Greg Notess In the Crazy Mountains, we took the trail from Half Moon Campground all the way to Blue Lake. From there we traversed the south shore of the lake to a drainage up to the south and across meadows to a steep ascent. Spreading out on the more vegetated section to avoid rock fall, we gained the ridge at about 10,200 feet and then followed the ridge to the east to the false summit. From there we descended a steep gully in pairs and climbed to the true summit. 12 miles and 5,400 feet of elevation gain. Climbers: Larry Hiller, Frank Wesolovski, Daniel Ostrem, Greg Notess, Linda Soper and Dell Meuchel. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Tim Anderson at twamontana@gmail.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you. |
