When Larry Hiller contacted me to put a trip on the calendar for GMS week in the Two Med area the Sky Lake route on Rising Wolf immediately came to mind. I typically try to choose trips that are outside the norm. Rising Wolf gathers a lot of attention but I don't see too many doing this route and selecting the east summit as an objective. This route is clearly my favorite in the park with 1,800' of the most solid and challenging scrambling to be found. Dennis Eaves, Ken McDermott, Denis Twohig and myself climbed in ideal conditions. I find it extremely rewarding to share a new route with seasoned and experienced climbers, especially when everyone achieves a great sense of accomplishment.
