Mount Calowahcan - August 22, 2009 Coordinator: Jim Valentine The scheduled climb of August 15 was cancelled due to poor weather and rescheduled for August 22 under sunny skies. Our route was the northwest ridge, which is attained after a short hike on the Eagle Pass Trail and then a bushwhack through some nasty Mission Mountain brush. The climb continued up the ridge to within 250 feet of the summit. We traversed out on to the west face and then found some good Class 3 and 4 routes to the summit. Elevation gain was about 6,000 feet to the 9,061-foot summit. Climbers were: Jim Valentine, Ken Nielson,Tony Brown, Brock Brown and Jeff Young.
