Grizzly Peak - August 16, 2009 Coordinator: Frank Wesolovski It was a misty start from the boat dock at Two Medicine Lake. Mary Knotts set a fine pace as we trekked toward Two Medicine Pass before the fog encompassed us as we reached the saddle below Rockwell. At the pass we weren't sure where Grizzly was. With visibility about 10 feet, we started up and ran into two guys from IOWA looking for Eagle Ribs. We told them we thought we were on Grizzly and Eagle Ribs should be somewhere "over there". Dell and Martin joined us after considering their options. The snow level was at 8,500 feet, with wet, slushy icicyles on the rock. This made for a slick climb up to the summit. We reached the top and the sky broke open to a beautiful view to the east. For a brief moment we saw Eagle Ribs and then it was gone. The descent was a bit rainy, but as we reached the trailhead it cleared off long enough for us to enjoy cocktails and chips. Thanks to all for the help wandering around in the fog looking for the summit. Grizzly climbers were: Larry Hiller, Laurel Vielle, Martin Valles, Dell Meuchel, David Schuler, Bill Haring, Frank Wesolovski, Mary Knotts and Brian Kennedy.
